How do thermometers work?

How do the mouth and ear thermometers work? my mouth is temp thermometer in 6 seconds and my ear only in 1 second! how do they do it? thermometers are harmful if I use them a few times every day? theia re both digital. I mean, how something can take my time through my ear in 1 second? it seems artificial and impossible! there must be something bad for me with that? and can I use an ear thermometer for natural family planning method sympto thermal?

I am not 100% sure how Ear thermometers can take the temperature so quickly, but I am an NFP teacher and I'm sure one ear thermometer will not be efficient for NFP. You need to have a digital thermometer is also a basal thermometer. Basal thermometers are accurate to 0.1 degree, while regular Digital thermometers are only accurate to 0.2 degree. I have no idea of the accuracy of ear thermometers, can not recommend you use them. I have not heard of a digital basal thermometer can read temperatures in just 6 seconds, if Please check yours and make sure it is a basal thermometer. If not, I recommend the BD brand digital thermometers, they are very specific and basal length of my long experience. Good luck.
