How do I get really nice hair? oo?

, Ok i hav long hair but how do you make it look nice, shiny and smooth, without Using a hair dryer or something else? I use shampoo and conitioner every 2nd day, I do not brush when wet and I let it dry but of course it is very thick so how do I get to look nice without looking thick?
